Immaterial UNESCO World Heritage: Small, manoeuvrable cargo sailing ships, built on beaches without written construction plans
Pinisis, small, maneuverable cargo sailing ships, were already sailing between the Indonesian islands in the days of Dutch colonization. They are still built the same way today, on the beach, without written blueprints. This unique construction method has since been declared an intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO.
