Cookie manufacturer Bertram Dinkler (Christian Berkel) and his know-it-all attitude trigger an unexpected fighting spirit in single mother Stefanie Eckhoff (Andrea Sawatzki). Stefanie challenges Bertram to earn a sports badge and try to outperform her. Already during their first training session, the opponents realize that they may have gone a little too far. Light-hearted, or rather light-footed, this TV comedy draws its humor from an over-the-top athletic competition between two parents. The film relies heavily on slapstick and the chemistry between Andrea Sawatzki and Christian Berkel, who are actually married in real life and provide amusing moments as a contrasting duo. “Sportabzeichen für Anfänger” thus becomes a light-hearted pastime with an ensemble that is extremely playful and, above all, eager to run.
