Le poisson ne voit pas l’eau

Short Film/Society, Belgium 2019

We are not aware of our own way of thinking, which clings to our vision of the world like water to a fish's eyes. Awareness arises from the encounter with others. When confronted with differences, like a flying fish seeing from above the water in which it usually swims, we realize that there are other ways of thinking and become aware of our own. We become “ethnologists of ourselves”. Taking part in a “philosophy workshop” is a way of transforming ourselves into a flying fish. Children may do it faster than others.
