Final cut au Pakistan

Art/Society, France 2010

With a rich film tradition dating back to the 1930s, Pakistan is the birthplace of a popular, violent, colorful cinema that is unknown in France. This documentary sets out to meet the men and women who have made and continue to make this cinema, to understand its place and its challenges in the cultural and social life of the country. From tumultuous film shoots to rowdy movie theaters, it will be a way to discover a society, its ways of life and its changes, far from Western clichés and fantasies.
