Director Gotz Spielmann follows his acclaimed thriller Revanche with this visually captivating character study, in which a family reunion at a mountainside inn lays bare old wounds and reveals long-held secrets. Sonja (Nora Waldstätten) and her sister Verena (Ursula Strauss) grew up in the Austrian mountains in a hotel run by their parents. When their mother died a few years ago, the hotel was closed down and the house is now only occupied by Verena, her husband Michael (Johannes Zeiler), their son and the widowed family patriarch (Peter Simonischek). Sonja, on the other hand, has been living in Berlin for several years, where she has enjoyed an impressive career as a television actress. But neither Verena nor Sonja are really satisfied with their lives - they long for something they can't quite put their finger on. When their father suffers a heart attack and is dying, Sonja returns home for the first time in a long time. The two sisters have to come to terms with each other and with themselves and consider how they want to approach the rest of their lives.
