At the Threshold

A reflection on a social shift that is unfolding with the closing of the last home-operated funeral parlors in Québec, At the Thresh- old follows Gilles and Gaétane, Lucienne, Diane Huguette, and Nadia on their quest to find meaning and to come to terms with death. At different stages of life, and at the margins of the funeral industry, they invent their own rituals that allow them a more intimate experience of death -- that of their loved ones and ultimately their own.
