Pastures New

Mâlăncrav, a village in Romania today. Many of its inhabitants move to Western Europe for short-term, insecure jobs, in the hope of a better life in the village. This constant to-ing and fro-ing affects the lives of every family. Through the intimate landscape of those who keep the village alive, the film tells the story of Natalia, Alina, Andrei, Ioan and Niculae. Combative, disillusioned women, carefree youngsters and the last shepherds clinging to their land and flocks.
