Meerkat and moon rocket

The name of Gideonette de La Rey is cursed, claim the neighbors. After the sudden death of her father, the 13-year-old has to go to her grandparents in the country to gain distance. But the curse haunts her in her dreams and encounters her as a hairy monster. Paralyzing fear hardly lets her leave her room anymore. Looking out of the window, she observes the deaf, astronaut playing neighbour boy Bhubesi. His innocence and cheerfulness infect Gideonette. For months, Bhubesi and his grandfather have been building a moon rocket, with which the little astronaut will one day fly into the sky. The days pass by and Gideonette feels better and better. But then she overhears a conversation between her grandparents and finds out the real reason for her father's death.
