In addition, comedies like Groundhog Day and There's Something About Mary attract many viewers to the cinema. Comedy stars like Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler are at the beginning of their film careers. Quentin Tarantino made a name for himself with Pulp Fiction. Towards the end of the century, highly acclaimed films such as Magnolia, Fight Club, Boys Don't Cry, The Insider and Being John Malkovich were released – all of which made 1999 one of the best years in the history of American film.
