The Peppercorns (in Germany Die Pfefferkörner) - these are the girls and boys who solve criminal cases in Hamburg with detective flair. In the past, Hamburg merchants were called ‘Pfeffersäcke’ (pepper bags). The name of the detective club was derived from this. This is because they are small and fiery, and they roll around cheerfully. They come from all over the world and have a lot to offer. The Peppercorns are five young detectives with a special flair. When strange things happen in Hamburg, they are never far away. After school, the friends meet in their investigation centre on the warehouse floor of a spice store in Hamburg's Speicherstadt district. From here, they investigate thieves, environmental offenders, fraudsters, fences, drug smugglers and other dubious contemporaries. With flair, courage and team spirit, the young detectives crack every criminal case, no matter how tricky. Along the way, they also have to deal with arguments with their parents, the ups and downs of love and other everyday hardships. But the children manage this too - after all, they can always count on each other. The Peppercorns have been solving criminal cases around Hamburg's Speicherstadt for 25 years. And since the Peppercorns are also getting older and therefore more mature, their four (or five) new, young actors are taking on their roles - the 13th generation is already investigating! The parents' guide FLIMMO says: ’The criminal cases invite children to join in the guessing and excitement. The stories are staged in an exciting way without being too demanding. Friendship, helpfulness and tolerance take centre stage.’ FLIMMO recommends ‘Die Pfefferkörner’ from 7+. Latvian girl Natascha is “ripped off” by Marek and Tobias on her way to school. She doesn't dare tell anyone about it, not even Fiete, who has been watching. Fiete figures out that the 200 DM for the school trip has been stolen. He decides to work with Cem and Jana to catch the culprits. Jana is prepared with a microphone as bait. She manages to lure Marek and Tobias to her headquarters and confront them with Natascha. But Tascha is afraid: the two boys have been threatening to have her parents fired from their job for weeks if she doesn't give them money ...
