The 1960s saw the debut of James Bond. Clint Eastwood stole the show as Man with No Name in Sergio Leone's "Dollars Trilogy." Actors like Paul Newman in Butch Cassidy, Steve McQueen in The Great Escape and Sidney Poitier in Guess Who's Coming to Dinner dominated the box office.
At the end of the decade, Bonnie and Clyde and The Graduate pave the way for the 70s. John Wayne wins his only Oscar for True Grit – Retaliation and an X-rated film (see FSK18) wins at the Academy Awards.
