Delicious improv comedy about a self-made therapist and his unusual couples therapy. Klaus Kranitz (Jan Georg Schütte) used to be a shady real estate agent. Now he's a self-made couples therapist—and his approach is quite promising: he claims to need only three 30-minute sessions to revitalize couples' relationships. Otherwise, they get their money back – and at 1,500 euros, that's no small amount! To make sure he doesn't lose out on the cash, Kranitz comes up with all kinds of tricks and intuitive insights into human nature. The end justifies the means, or rather, love justifies the means! Only “therapist” Jan Georg Schütte, who is also responsible for writing and directing this entertaining improvisational concept, knows the sequence of the six improvised therapy sessions. As in his previous projects “Das Begräbnis” (The Funeral) and “Wellness für Paare” (Wellness for Couples), the actors only receive their character and couple profiles before filming. During filming, they have to react spontaneously to all the surprises they are confronted with in the course of the sessions... The couples are also excellently cast: Lisa Hagmeister, Günther Maria Halmer, Katharina Heyer, Charly Hübner, Bjarne Mädel, Aurel Manthei, Bjarne Meisel, Thomas Niehaus, Mercy Dorcas Otieno, Gustav Schmidt, Anna Schudt, and Angela Winkler. It must have been pure joy for all of them. The ensemble used the playful freedom of the improv format to spontaneously develop the peculiarities and absurdities of their characters in front of the camera. 'Kranitz...' truly deserves a television award if one is to believe Schütte that it does not stubbornly follow a script but is improvised, even if it is hard to believe because almost every sentence in almost six hours of television series is spot on."
